Explore Our Tours & Walks
At Land & Legend Trails, walking is about more than steps and scenery — it’s about connection. Connection to the landscape beneath your feet, to the stories shaped by time, and to the simple pleasure of being outdoors in good company.
Ireland’s coastlines, hills, and countryside hold layers of meaning. Granite that built cities. Paths worn by pilgrims and traders. Quiet valleys that carry echoes of myth and memory. When we walk through these places slowly and intentionally, they begin to speak.
Our guided walks are designed to be accessible, engaging, and grounded in real storytelling. We move at a comfortable pace, pause often, and look beyond what’s obvious — exploring the geology, history, folklore, and human stories that give each place its character.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering familiar ground, you’ll leave with more than photographs. You’ll leave with perspective, insight, and a renewed appreciation for the land.
Walk The Land. Discover The Legend.
The Granite Coast
If you’ve ever looked out across Dublin Bay and wondered about the stories hidden in the stone, The Granite Coast Tour is for you.
This is a relaxed coastal walk from Dún Laoghaire to Dalkey, where we follow the curve of the bay with the sea on one side and layers of history on the other. The same Wicklow granite beneath your feet built the harbour walls, the Martello towers, local churches — and even parts of London. On this tour, we bring that stone to life.
Along the way, we explore how Dún Laoghaire Harbour was built after a tragic maritime disaster, how the railway transformed Victorian seaside life, and why Dalkey was once a Viking trading port. We pass historic towers built to defend against Napoleon, hear stories of writers like Joyce, and take in some of the best coastal views in Ireland.
It’s not just a history lesson — it’s a story of ambition, survival, engineering, and everyday life by the sea.
Expect fresh air, big views, great conversation, and a deeper appreciation of the landscape that shaped Dublin — and far beyond.
Suitable for visitors, locals, and anyone who enjoys walking, storytelling, and discovering the meaning behind the places we think we already know.

National Trails
If you’re looking to explore Ireland at a comfortable pace, our Lowland Walks on the National Trails are a perfect place to start.
These guided walks take place along waymarked routes developed and maintained by the National Trails Office and supported by Sport Ireland. They’re designed to showcase the very best of Ireland’s countryside — rolling hills, forest tracks, river valleys, coastal paths and quiet rural roads — without the need for technical mountain skills.
We walk at an easy, steady pace, with plenty of stops to take in the scenery and share the stories behind the landscape. Depending on the route, we might explore old mining paths, famine roads, medieval ruins, estate woodlands, or sections of long-distance trails that connect communities across the country.
These walks are about more than just getting from A to B. They’re about understanding the land beneath your feet — its geology, wildlife, folklore, and history — and enjoying good company along the way.
No scrambling. No pressure. Just well-planned routes, fresh air, and the simple pleasure of walking through Ireland’s living landscape.
Suitable for beginners and regular walkers alike — especially those who want to explore further, safely and confidently.

Dublin Architecture
If you’ve ever walked through Dublin and admired the buildings without quite knowing their stories, this tour is for you.
Our Dublin Architecture Tour is a relaxed, engaging walk through the heart of Dublin, where we explore the city through its streets, squares, and skylines. No technical jargon — just clear, fascinating insights into how the city grew, changed, and reinvented itself over time.
We look at grand Georgian terraces with their colourful doors, stand beneath the columns of the General Post Office, explore the layers of power and politics around Dublin Castle, and wander through the elegant courtyards of Trinity College Dublin. Along the way, you’ll discover how Viking streets shaped the city layout, why Georgian design still defines Dublin’s character, and how modern architecture is adding new chapters to the story.
This isn’t just about buildings — it’s about ambition, rebellion, wealth, poverty, faith, and identity, all written into brick, stone, and glass.
Expect an easy-paced walk, clear explanations, and plenty of “I never noticed that before” moments.
Because once you understand the buildings, you begin to see the city differently.

Night Hikes
If you think the hills are beautiful by day, wait until you see them at night.
Our Night Hikes are gentle, guided evening walks around Dublin and Wicklow where we slow things down and experience the landscape in a completely different way. As the sun sets and darkness settles in, the noise fades, the crowds disappear, and your senses begin to sharpen.
We walk at an easy pace using headtorches when needed, letting our eyes adjust naturally to the light of the moon and stars. Along the way, we’ll chat about constellations, local folklore, nocturnal wildlife, and how our ancestors would have experienced these same hills without streetlights or screens.
There’s something grounding about walking under a dark sky — it’s quiet, reflective, and surprisingly calming. It’s also great fun. Expect laughter, shared stories, and that slightly magical feeling of being somewhere you wouldn’t normally be after dark.
These hikes are suitable for beginners and families (typically 12+), and no previous night walking experience is needed — just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
Because sometimes the best way to see the land… is when you can’t quite see it at all.
